William C. Fischer Basketball Camp Scholarship

Scholarships to the University of Montana Grizzly and Lady Grizzly basketball camps are being awarded to deserving participants in honor of Bill Fischer who for many years was instrumental in the success of the Kiwanis Basketball program. Bill joined the Kiwanis Club of Missoula in 1976. He served president in 1985. Bill was a key person in the successful operation of the basketball program for over 20 years beginning in the early 1980s.  This scholarship is a partnership between the University of Montana Athletic Department and the Kiwanis Club of Missoula. Two scholarships for 6th grade boys and girls are donated by UM and two scholarships for 7th/8th grade boys and girls are purchased by our club.  Recipients are selected based on a variety of criteria including sportsmanship, team play, and a strong desire to improve their basketball skills.

To be eligible a player must be in the 6th, 7th, or 8th grade and currently participating in the Kiwanis Basketball Program.  To apply complete the application and return it to the your team’s coach.
