Opportunity Resources Employee of the Quarter

ORI employee Marcus Bartlett

Marcus is employed with the ORI Production and Assembly Department (PAD) and is very handy working on all types of production and assembly projects. He has also been very active in ORI’s Art Program, and is truly a stand-out among ‘the Artists of Opportunity’, winning awards and selling his own original artwork. Last year, Marcus decided to get more serious about learning to market his own art and become more engaged with the Missoula art community. With EmployAbilities support, Marcus created his own professional portfolio, and consulted with a professional art framer to have some of his work presented in a local gallery. Presently, Marcus is working on an internship with Zootown Community Arts Center (ZACC) a couple of afternoons each week. Marcus helps create crafts for ZACC students to use as models for their own creations, assists keeping art supplies organized and ready for use, helps children with their personal projects in the ZACC classrooms, and worked with the front desk changing the sidewalk reader board announcements, and much more! Marcus has a positive impact on the ZACC, and everyone at the ZACC has grown to love Marcus for his gentle demeanor and ‘shout out loud’ artistic talents. We’re proud of Marcus and all of his self-motivated efforts to develop his own career; and one of these days, all of us at ORI will be saying, ‘we knew him when’.
